Andreas Bunte is a visual artist and filmmaker who’s investigates how the interplay between technology, architecture and the human body shapes our environment. In his films and film installations he appropriates filmic strategies developed in the context of scientific motion studies, the field of Anthropology or in the context of forensics. His use of the medium explores how its capacity to document and store motion can be critically applied to estrange and question what we take for granted as the world that surrounds us. Buntes works have been presented in festivals, group and solo exhibitions at such venues as Skulptur Projekte Münster; Kunsthalle Wien; Berlinale Filmfestival; Museum of Art and Design, New York; Cornerhouse Manchester; Kunsthalle Basel; Gropiusbau, Berlin and Kunstverein Hamburg. From 2012-2016 he was a research fellow at the Academy of Fine Arts in Oslo, where he investigated the genre of scientific research film.
